Artist’s Statement

The arrangement and placement of ordinary objects in tableau, can at once be decisive and unconsciously random. Sometimes, the relationships created can indicate a half-life barely visible that when noticed often tells a secret story.

In my years of traveling and collecting I’m constantly bemused by the curious scenarios unwittingly created within my home when something new is added or has simply been displaced.

These paintings to me, are not just about still life. I have tried to set the stage for the object to deliver its soliloquy through the intrinsic whimsy or drama of its character and setting.
